Super Enduro Sidestand Relocation

The mod that I did was an "I did it myself" mod. I have a friend who is a really great fab guy and a dirt rider. We looked at the side stand. After taking tips from what Power Cell did to his bike we decided to move it to the frame. To do this we welded a scrap (that black thing) of metal to the frame. And hung the side stand from that. I started off by referencing the location of the side stand to the bike and comparing that to my dirt bike.

We wanted to move the side stand back to the frame but at the same time have it rotate to about the same location as the OEM.

As you can see from the photo we never quite made it. We did get about half the distance back. We did this by milling the stops on the side stand. This allowed it to rotate more in its mount.



One of the things that I was worried about is how far the side stand might stick out after I moved it.
I think that we did ok here too.


So to summarize we used a piece of scrap metal. It was about 3/8" thick. I've used it for a few months now with no issues. All-in-all I really liked it.



I think that someone could come up with a bolt on plate to hang the side stand from.

Not to speak poorly of BlackDog. I like the guy and his product. I was driven to do this after seeing photos of how far the side stand hung down in its original mount. The BD solution was not to move the stand but to deflect the rock past it. Honestly I haven't a lot of faith in deflector plates. I've seen too many rock marks on bash plates. They tend to go from one end to the other. I still want to buy a BD plate. But I will be welding the slot for the side stand closed.

I don't have the resources to build and or sell this product. I will help out with free advice. But that is the best that I can do.
